Halfway through #destinationunknown at location number two: Yanagawa, Fukuoka, Japan, a country whose geoemtric zen inspired the interpretation for our Mobi print.

1. Obi belt - A signature part of the country’s traditional dress, reminiscent of the the 470m wide canal unique to Yanagawa in Fukuoka, Japan.
2 & 4. Kasuri fabrics - this is ikat kasuri, oft used for kimonos and said to last three generations, getting ever softer with time.
3. A straw hat - evoking the shape of Japanese roofs in this heritage site as well as the farmer’s inspiration behind these pants.
5. Paper crane - origami, a traditional paper folding technique.

There’s something about pockets we can’t get over, and these lovely pants are testament to that. Inspired by the generous front facing pockets on a farmer’s overalls, this pair is made for the Sundays when you never know what you’re going to get into. Apple picking? Check. Herb shopping at the local farmer’s market? Check. Wildflowers for the kitchen table? Check. We can’t wait to see what you’ll put in this pair.
