We’re on the hunt for a Sales and Marketing Director to oversee the strategy and execution of marketing campaigns, product launches, and digital content strategy, as well as partnerships with key retailers and brands.

In this position we seek someone who is excited about steering the strategic direction of our young company, and wants to actively take part in building a brand that does good in the world along with being a good business.

Who we are:

MATTER is a socially motivated business that collaborates with textile artisans and designers to create comfortable, versatile travel wear with stories to tell. We believe the world would be a better place if people connected to where and why their clothes were made. Our first edition of products are pants to see the world in, sold online as well as through Nomad Cart pop ups.  

We are small but have big dreams, and since launching in late March this year, have reached customers globally from Singapore to Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, United Kingdom, France, United States, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Holland and Finland. 

Our vision is to become a collaborative artisan-designer retailer of travel wear and a thought leader in the area of artisan production in Asia, helping to make rural textile artisanship sustainable and desirable for makers and consumers alike.

SCOPE OF WORK:

MARKETING

  • Direction of strategic marketing plan, content strategy and key campaigns to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition and customer retention
  • Oversight on social media accounts and direct marketing programs such as direct mail, display media and paid search
  • Reporting, analysis and optimization of all platforms

SALES

  • Building a wholesale distribution pipeline with strategic retailers
  • Managing all wholesale customer accounts
  • Onboarding and management of community ambassadors and sales goals
  • Business analytics and metrics monitoring

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Researching and identifying new business / partnership opportunities worldwide
  • Coordination of market entry strategies through key events and pop ups
  • Recruitment of community ambassadors in strategic locations by establishing relationships and assessing key candidates
  • Merchandising input into product development through remaining current on industry trends, market activities and competitors

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years experience managing digital marketing programs, social media management in an e-commerce environment
  • Experience in sales / business development requiring negotiation and prospecting skills
  • Experience in the apparel or lifestyle/accessories industries a plus
  • Strong domain knowledge of digital marketing techniques with an intuitive grasp of customer and a drive to reach and satisfy customers
  • Strong aesthetic sense and the ability to work with creatives
