“I have never had to find myself, as I’ve always been assured that as a powerful and beautiful woman, I can achieve anything I want to.”
WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER EDITION OF #WOWWOMEN. This month, Wear Oh Where has partnered up with us and together, we have embarked on a very special journey — the #JourneyToMe, which is about celebrating the self.
In this series, we chat with inspiring women of different backgrounds and ages (from the 20s to the 60s) — each one of them extraordinary in her own way. They speak candidly about their journey of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and the courage and confidence to be themselves, unapologetically.
Ivy Singh-Lim is a woman who needs no introduction. You’ve read about her in the papers. You’ve seen her on TV. It’s also very likely that you have visited her organic farm,Bollywood Veggies, and Poison Ivy bistro at Kranji. The former president of the Asian Federation of Netball Association is known for her no-nonsense, straight-talking ways, whether you like it or not.
Now at 66, this Gentle Warrior — with her signature “Good Morning” towel and pocket knife — is as fearless about being exactly who she is as ever.
“My identity as a warrior and a god defines me. I am able to create, to nurture and to destroy. I protect the things I love and believe in, and I can make the world a paradise.
I have never had to find myself, as I’ve always been assured that as a powerful and beautiful woman, I can achieve anything I want to.
I don’t identify with #JourneyToMe as I have always been here and known what my life’s purpose is — which is to be a warrior. What I believe is that life is a journey for everyone, and they should get on with it, without the dishonesty and bullshit that plague this world.”
