The Modern Monpe + Alpine Rhythm

The Monpe is a Japanese work pant usually worn by fieldworkers or tradesmen, popularized in the war era by villagers who had to expand their freedom of movement. Distinguished by a looser, low-slung waist and a unique front to back closure, this Modern Monpe is a tailored, smarter version with an easy to wear flexible button closure and D-ring waist belt in sturdy twill.

This edition features the Alpine Rhythm motif from the Kumaon collection, designed by Himalayan designer-collaborator, Preetika Sah. Inspired by the eight petaled lotus seat, used for worshipping Goddess Saraswati, this motif inspires a sense of consciousness and motivates us to look within ourselves with a mindful eye.
