The Modern Monpe + Mystic Mountain

The Monpe is a Japanese work pant usually worn by fieldworkers or tradesmen, popularized in the war era by villagers who had to expand their freedom of movement. Distinguished by a looser, low-slung waist and a unique front to back closure, this Modern Monpe is a tailored, smarter version with an easy to wear flexible button closure and D-ring waist belt in sturdy twill.

This edition features the Mystic Mountain motif from the Kumaon collection, designed by Himalayan designer-collaborator, Preetika Sah. Inspired by the mystic geometric patterns of the worshipping seats used in Kumaon that mark the different stages of life, this motif embodies the story of self discovery through the connecting of dots through time and looking within our souls.
