The Sideswept Dhoti + Handloom Indigo

This rendition of our signature unisex dhoti might just end up in the our book of classics to love. Stitched into these lovely drapes is a handloom fabric dyed with natural indigo by the weavers of rural craft organisation, Dastkar Andhra.

Handloom fabric speaks with a texture and uneven finish that forms part of its charm, and coupled with the age old technique of indigo dye, produces a rhythmic banding across the fabric that is most visible when held up to the sun. This is the stop and start of the handloom shuttle, pauses in between the weavers' activity as they go about their day.

Handloom fabrics are softer and more breathable, and this garment will change over time as it is washed and worn, along with the colour its natural dye indigo depending on use, exposure to sun, and its environment.

100% light weight cotton. Colour and weaving variations may occur and is part of the charm of this handloomed fabric.
